The Salina Police Department is investigating after a stolen gun report.

Between May 7 and May 9 a Kolar 12 gauge Trap shotgun was allegedly taken from a deceased Salina man.Family members of Robert Hamm reported to Salina Police while they were on his property at Drury Place (1000 Schippel Drive) after they realized his prized possession was gone.

The case is being investigated as a theft and there are no suspects at this time. Total loss is listed at $7600.

An arrest has been made in connection to a theft case.

Joseph Smith of Salina was booked in Saline Co. Jail after the vehicle he allegedly stole from the 200 block of N. Columbia was recovered at the Budget King Motel (809 N Broadway).

The car, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am was taken between 8-9am on May 9. Smith faces charges on theft of a motor vehicle.

The sheriffs office is investigating after a report of stolen property.

Sometime between May 8 and May 9 a residence in the 1800 block of rural Saline County was compromised.

A shed on the property was found broken into and stolen from it were a Craftsman push mower and John Deere riding mower with attachments.

Total loss is $3000.
