Plane Flips On Runway At Ellsworth Airport

A pilot walks away from a rough landing at the airport in Ellsworth.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 21-year-old Adam Martin from Baldwin City was landing a small Cessna airplane.

The aircraft was on the center line and started to flare to land. The aircraft drifted to the left. The left rear tire caught a snow bank as the pilot attempted a go around and pulled the nose down. The nose hit and the aircraft flipped.

Martin was not injured.

The crash happened at 4:14 Thursday afternoon at the Ellsworth Municipal Airport.
