A cold night did not stop a large crowd from lining Santa Fe to enjoy to enjoy the annual parade of lights.

The parade, the favorite one of the year for many in Salina, this year had about 100 entries. Nearly all were decorated with feative lights.

Leading the way, near the front of the procession, were the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales. The eight large horses were pulling a turn of the century beer wagon. Following behind was the Budweiser Dalmation Chip.

Philips Lighting again this year had one of the more unique entries. On its brightly lit float was a large, almost human, Christmas tree dancing to the beat of techno music.

Prior to the parade, local dance groups performed to entertain the gathering crowd.

The parade was the highlight Saturday of a full day of festivities ringing in the holiday season. Salina Downtown’s signature event, the annual Christmas Festival and Miracle on Santa Fe Parade of Lights are a full day of family-friendl events that officially signify the beginning of the holiday season.
