Penguins At Rolling Hills Staying Longer

The penguins at Salina’s Rolling Hills Zoo are staying a little longer.

Four African penguins that arrived back in April were scheduled to leave at the end of September. Instead, Penguin Landing will stay open three extra weeks, through October 20th.

The traveling exhibit, which has been very popular at the zoo, creates a unique opportunity for visitors to get up close and personal with the penguins. Guests can also learn about the plight of penguins in the wild, what conservation efforts are currently taking place to preserve their future, and what they can do to help wild penguins.

The indoor penguin habitat, located inside the wildlife museum, was carefully designed to meet the recommended requirements.

Zoo officials are planning a going away event for the penguins for the weekend of October 19th and 20th.
