Nuts and Bolts Build Festival

With notes from last year as a guide – organizers of the 38th Annual Smoky Hill River Festival continue to check off tasks from their ‘to-do list’ to get Oakdale Park ready for a 4-day party.

Entertainment Coordinator Sharon Benson stopped into the KSAL Morning News Thursday with a look at the nuts and bolts of the job, “We have literally sat at the desk with the notes in front of us from last year with ideas of what needed to be done to make it better,” she said.

Benson adds that making the River Festival great, comes down to the smallest details. “It’s the minutia of the job, like making sure trash gets picked up Thursday night on Food Row before we get started.”

The River Festival kicks off Thursday night June 12th at 6pm with the Festival Jam and wraps up Sunday afternoon June 15th.

Admission is by Festival button, available for $10 in advance and $15 at the gate. Festival Buttons are on sale at 40 locations around Salina.
