Salina Police are investigating after someone fired a bullet into a parked car that was empty.

Police say a high caliber bullet entered the rear passenger door on a 1995 Nissan Maxima – and then lodged in the rear door on the driver’s side.

Officers are still working with the owner on the timeline and location of where the vehicle was when the bullet struck it.

Police say the incident probably occurred sometime between Friday at 5pm and Saturday around 5:30pm – in the Central Mall parking lot or in an area around Belmont and Mayfair.

Damage is listed at $500.
