A Salina man is facing a charge of child abuse after an incident inside a home in the 900 block of Birch.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Thomas D. Harrington on Sunday.

Police allege back on May 2nd, he picked up a female teenager and threw her down before choking her by pulling on the hooded sweatshirt she was wearing.

Sunday, the victim and a family member told police about the event.

Police say that Harrington and the victim are acquaintances.
