Four wheeled beauties – with plenty of horses under the hood will be roaming the streets of Downtown Salina Thursday evening.

Penny Bettles with Salina Downtown Inc. tells KSAL News they are expecting some 200 to 300 cars to roll down Santa Fe during the Sunset Cruise tonight.

“There’s about 2,000 vintage and custom cars coming to Salina this weekend so we’ve got a great showing that will cruise,” she said.

“It’s just a sampling of what you’ll see at the Leadsled event in Oakdale Park.”

Riders of Salina’s own Cruiser Cult Bicycle Club (CCBC) will also be weaving in and around the parade that begins at 7:30pm.

The 37th Annual KKOA Leadsled Spectacular starts with the Thursday night cruise and opens at 10am on Friday, July 28th in Oakdale Park.

Great pic! That’s Potsie, the neighborhood bike-ster. Everyone loves it when he’s riding around town giving hi fives and pops to everyone. I remember one year he had a boom box strapped to a wagon he was pulling blasting some great music. It’s always good to see him when this event comes to town, kind of a local celebrity like Michael Stipe, Eddie Vedder, or Prince. Never afraid to whip out his six string and play some chords of the next number one hit tune!

The car guys are welcomed and bring a super show to Salina which is bigger then that artsy river festival. Now if these guys could just cruise down 4 lanes of Santa Fe from North to South that would be super but sadly they cannot because of those bike Lanes South of Crawford which need to be changed back to four lanes.
