Horses and Violins

Abby Harders can’t remember when she started riding horses, “I’ve just always loved horses and rodeos,” she said.

The 16-year-old breakaway roper and barrel racer is riding into to the Saline County Mounted Patrol Rodeo as the 2014 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas.

Abby joined in on the KSAL Morning News Friday with a look at what is on tap for the two day event and noted she will be on the move around the state promoting the sport she loves.

“I was crowned at the Dodge City Round-Up Rodeo and it’s an awesome rodeo.”

Abby is currently a sophomore in high school in Moundridge and also a member of the BCAPA Orchestra program where she plays violin.

She plans to attend Wichita State University in the future and become a dental hygienist

The Saline County Mounted Patrol Rodeo starts today and runs through Saturday at the Saline County Livestock & Expo Center and Ag Hall.
