Gunshot Victim Arrested

A Salina man who was shot twice in the stomach is arrested after his release from a Wichita hospital.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 20-year-old Melchizedek Fitzgerald has been charged with aggravated battery for allegedly throwing a board and hitting a man in the forehead during an argument in the parking lot of Braum’s on W. Crawford. Police say the incident took place on August 4th.

Back on August 18th, Fitzgerald was shot after an argument turned violent inside an apartment on N. 2nd Street.

Raymond Isom, 34 was arrested as the gunman and is facing attempted 1st degree murder charges.

Captain Sweeney says the two incidents were unrelated.
