A man from Minneapolis, Kansas was jailed in Saline County Tuesday in connection to a car chase that took place in Salina last month.

Police arrested 47-year-old Richard Long on a warrant after locating him.

Police allege he led officers on a chase on November 28, after an officer on patrol noticed a person who he believed to have a suspended license driving a Ford Taurus.

The officer attempted a traffic stop.
The driver did not stop, but fled. A short pursuit began, reaching speeds of 40-miles-per-hour, before police called it off for safety concerns.

The car was found a short time later, abandoned in the 400 block of W. Antrim Street.

Officers also found marijuana and methamphetamine in the vehicle, prompting additional charges for Long.
