Drug Operation Busted Near School

Police seized drugs and guns when they busted a suspected drug operation near a Salina school this week. A two-week long investigation culminated Tuesday night with officers from the I 135 / I 70 Drug Task Force busting the suspected illegal drug operation.

Drug Task Force Commander Lt. Bill Cox says that a search warrant was executed at a home at 1004 East Iron.  The home is located 137 feet from Oakdale Elementary School.

Officers seized nearly a pound of marijuana, marijuana wax, a small amount of methamphetamine, and hallucinogenic mushrooms. Along with the drugs they seized drug paraphernalia, and items used to grow mushrooms, and make marijuana wax. Cox says they believe mushrooms had been grown in the home previously and would be again.

Also seized were several guns including an assault rifle and three pistols, along with suspected drug money.

Police arrested four people. they include:

  • 25-year-old Blaine Godinez
  • 29-year-old Dominic Xavier Luis Martinez
  • 25-year-old Zachary A. Martinez
  • 25-year-old Aaron Jose Alvarado

All could face multiple felony drug charges. Cox adds that more arrests in the case are anticipated.

The investigation was prompted by a tip.
