Drug Charges

An attempted traffic stop leads to a short foot chase and the arrest of two Salina men.

Captain Chris Trocheck tells KSAL News that an officer on patrol recognized an occupant in a Jeep who was wanted on an active warrant and attempted to pull the vehicle over at the corner of 10th and South just before 7pm on Wednesday evening.

The driver of the Jeep did not stop – and sped away.

The two men jumped out of the Jeep in the 200 block of Baker and ran.

Police arrested 24-year-old Andre Satterfield and 22-year-old Scott Gardner after a short foot chase.

Officers found 34.1 grams of marijuana in the vehicle along with 7.5 grams of cocaine in a backpack that was in the Jeep. Officers also found a package of pot weighing more than 24 grams that had been thrown over a privacy fence during the chase.

Both men are now facing multiple drug charges with intent to distribute.
