Dog Saves Dickinson County Family From Fire

A family is awakened by their dog, and escapes a fire that destroyed their rural Dickinson County home early Friday morning.

Officials tell KSAL News that Dickinson County Fire District 1 responded to a report of a fully involved house fire at 4:00 Friday morning. The house was located at 2672 Oat Road.

The occupants of the home were alerted by the family dog of the fire. The parents, children, and pets were able to escape without injury.

The home is owned by Rex and Linda Mills. It was occupied by the David Powers family.

The home is a total loss.
