Shots Fired In Dickinson County Chase, Standoff

A standoff with a man with a rifle in rural Dickinson County ended peacefully Wednesday morning.
The man led law enforcement from Geary and Dickinson Counties on a pursuit at around 6:00 in the morning. It ended near Wolf Road and Lyons Creek in rural Dickinson County. The man got out of his van with a rifle and refused to surrender. A standoff ensued.
Multiple officers, including the Kansas Highway Patrol Special Response Team, responded to the scene. The man eventually put the rifle down, put his hands in the air, and was taken into custody.
Shots were fired during the incident, but no one was hurt.
The man’s name was not immediately available. He was being transported to Geary County to be charged, and booked into jail.
