Deputies Planning Saturation Patrol

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office will be out in force, specifically looking for drunk drivers this weekend.

According to the agency, deputies will be conducting a DUI Saturation patrol late Friday night into early Saturday.

Deputies on patrol will look for traffic violations and other signs that would indicate impaired driving. If deputies stop a suspect vehicle for driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs, they may take further action if the driver has given indicators that they be impaired and or under the influence.

The purpose of the program is to saturate a pre-designated area with roving deputies who continually monitor vehicular traffic for signs of impaired driving. Patrols will also place emphasis on speeding, safety belt and alcohol-related violations.
