A groundbreaking event to highlight the start of construction at Schilling Elementary School will take place next week on Thursday. The event is August 20th, at 10:00 a.m.

“The changes occurring at our school buildings result directly from collaborative efforts during the past years,” stated Bill Hall, superintendent of schools. The bond was approved by voters in April 2014 and addresses district needs including safety and security, all-day kindergarten, career and technical education and improvements at both high schools.

Schilling will begin construction in September with completion planned for the spring of 2015-16. All-day kindergarten will open at the start of school year 2016-17.

The event is free and everyone is invited to attend. Building designs and more information are available in school offices and at the USD 305 website.

Now USD 305 HAS A PERSON WRITING STORIES FOR THEM? How much are they paying her of our tax money. The taxpayers of our town have nobody to blame but themselves since they did not get out and vote. They let the people who work for USD305 do the voting and we are all paying for it now. Has anyone checked out the administration salaries being paid to these people? Just unbelievable what they make while all of us out in the work force are struggling to make ends meet. There needed to be some things done but demolishing South High is not one of them. Or putting the amount of money into central is unbelievable. USD 305 is spending money like a navy guy on leave and the rest of us are footing the bill. WAKE UP SALINA.
