Chili Cookoff Returns To Salina Street fair

The Chili Cook-Off is back at this year’s Smoky Hill Museum Street Fair.

According to the organization, it’s returning because of popular demand.

Teams are invited to enter and compete in two categories: Texas Red and Anything Goes. The Street Fair takes place on Saturday, September 27 surrounding the Smoky Hill Museum at 211 W. Iron Avenue in Downtown Salina.

First place prizes will be presented in each of the two categories along with a People’s Choice Award and Best Decorated Booth. Each entry can have a maximum of four people on their team. Each team needs to have a team captain and up to three assistants. For complete rules and regulations as well as an entry form, go to smokyhillmuseum.org and click on Street Fair.

The public is invited to grab a taste of all the entries for the price of a $5.00 wristband. Public taste testing will be from 11:30 am until prizes are awarded at 3:00 pm on the Main Stage. All proceeds will go to the Friends of the Smoky Hill Museum to help with the renovation of the children’s interactive area in the Museum.
