AUDIO: Voice of KC Chiefs Mitch Holthus 11/30

Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith was hoping to jumpstart the offense with a come-from-behind victory.

Instead, he was intercepted.

Smith forced a pass into coverage, picked off by Buffalo’s Tre’Davious White with about a minute remaining, capping off a dismal offensive performance in a 16-10 loss at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City lost for the fifth time in six games after starting 5-0.

The Chiefs’ offense was terrible in the first half against a defense that had surrendered more than 210 yards rushing per game the past three outings. KC went three-and-out on its first five possessions and gained 43 yards by the break.

KC settled for 236 total yards, just 55 coming on the ground. The Chiefs were 2-of-13 on third downs while Buffalo was 6-of-17. Smith was 23-of-36 passing for 199 yards with a TD and a pick. Tailback Kareem Hunt was held to 17 yards on 11 carries.
