A Salina man is sent to Salina Regional Health Center after shooting himself in the toe.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that 28 year old Antonio Johnson of Salina was treated for a gunshot wound on his left index toe after accidentally shooting himself.

Johnson and a friend were 10 miles east of town shooting a newly bought .45 caliber handgun. On the way back into town while handling the gun it accidentally discharged and clipped Johnson in the toe.

The shooting occurred at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Monday. No charges have been filed.
