KSAL Staff - January 27, 2014 11:38 am

Four Saline County stores are cited for selling alcohol to a minor in a sting by the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office conducted a controlled alcohol buy on Saturday, January 25th.
According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, 14 attempts to buy alcohol were made in various area convenience stores, liquor stores and shopping centers.

Two 18-years old males who were working with  Alcoholic Beverage Control and Tobacco Enforcement departments – entered the stores and attempted to buy alcohol.

According to Sheriff Kochanowski the two businesses where clerks sold beer to minors were: Tucsons Steak House, 2750 S. 9th and Knuckleheads Tavern, 311 E. Pacific.

Two other establishments sold whiskey to both males: East Crawford Wine and Spirits , 2109 E. Crawford and T & R Liquor, 153 S. Broadway.

Sheriff Kochanowski says the clerks were issued citations in each case.

What are the names of the 18 year olds? This should be public knowledge to provide proof that this whole thing was on the up and up and not a setup by law enforcement. After all Salina police dress up their cops as Santa Claus and the easter bunny to give out seatbelt tickets so why would they not lie about these guys and their real ages. Law enforcement can have any license made up to show what they want it to.
