A Salina man was arrested yesterday for a drunk driving joyride in a stolen vehicle in the 900 block of North 13th Street.

Joseph Matson, 43 of Salina, was taken into custody after a neighbor called police that a reckless driver ran into their 1964 Chevrolet pickup that was parked in their driveway. When police arrived, Matson was still at the scene, allegedly intoxicated.

When police ran the tag on the vehicle Matson was driving, they discovered it belonged to someone else.The victim of the stolen vehicle said it should have been parked at a farm on Old 40 highway, and did not realize it had been stolen.

Matson is charged with possession of stolen property, driving under the influence, and not reporting an accident.
