The USDA is laying off employees in Kansas.

KSHB reports nearly a dozen employees at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan lost their jobs earlier this month.

The job cuts involved probationary employees who were mainly administrative, and they are part of a nationwide reduction of the federal workforce.
