A train car derailment has prompted the closure of several streets in Beloit.

According to the Beloit Police Department, due to the derailment in the southeast area of Beloit, several streets are currently closed to all traffic. At this time, the following roads are closed:

• Brooklyn
• Elm
• Asherville Road

There is currently no estimated time for reopening.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes for your safety and to allow emergency crews and railroad personnel room to work.
