Salina Police are investigating a case involving the theft of gold coins.

According to Police, on Wednesday a resident in the 1200 block of N 10th Street reported sometime within the past day a thief broke into their home. Entry was gained through a window.

Once inside the thief stole fourteen, 1 ounce gold coins from a bedroom.  The coins were encapsulated in plastic and stored in a wooden box.

Total value of the coins is estimated at over $50,000.
