Statute of Limitations on Sex Crimes Against Children to End Next Month in Kansas

The current statute of limitations on criminal sex crimes against children will lapse next month throughout the Sunflower State.

This according to state lawmakers, who passed legislation to that effect this spring. Authorities say Kansas currently imposes no statutes of limitations for murder, terrorism and rape.

Effective July 1st, criminal sex crimes against children will be added to that list. That new law reportedly also extends the timeframe for filing civil actions related to the offense.
