Volunteers are still needed to pitch in for a Salina community-wide clean-up effort this Saturday.

Jane Anderson with Friends of the River Foundation joined in on the KSAL Morning News Extra with a look at nearly a dozen projects on the horizon.

Anderson said landscaping, painting projects and battling invasive plants near the river are all on the list for volunteers to tackle on Saturday morning. She added don’t worry about bringing your own tool chest either.

The Spring Spruce-Up community work day will take place this Saturday, April 26 from 8am to Noon.

Community members are asked to report to the project location to by 8am. Snack will be provided and children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The City of Salina will also have a free landfill day from 8am to 2pm.
