A Wichita aerospace company is laying off hundreds of employees.

Nearly 300 employees at Spirit AeroSystems learned yesterday that they are being laid off. The company blames the layoffs on a recent slowdown in the delivery rate on commercial programs.

Employees affected by the layoffs will be paid through July 4th and receive benefits through July 31st.
