A special session of the Kansas Legislature is taking place next week.

Lawmakers will head back to Topeka on Monday to focus on two bills in response to federal vaccine mandates. The measures challenge vaccine mandates from the Biden administration by allowing Kansas residents to receive unemployment insurance if they’re fired for not complying with vaccine mandates.

The other bill would require employers to grant religious exemptions to anyone who claims them.
