Pasture Fire Sparked by Trash Truck

A grass fire that burned 30-acres of pasture was ignited by a trash truck.

According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday morning around 6:10am a Hometown Disposal truck and driver was in the 3,000 block of S. Burma Road when a piece of cardboard or trash came in contact with the exhaust pipe, sparking the blaze.

Thirty acres of pasture was burned before fire crews quelled the blaze.
