Tom Zugelder, age 80, entered into rest on Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born on Nov. 8, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to Howard and Bertha (Prestel) Zugelder.
Tom served in the in the U.S. Air Force. He was honorably discharged. On April 19, 1958 he married Sharon Fulmer at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia. She preceded him on July 27, 2006. Tom owned and operated Schendel Pest Control in Concordia for 37 years, before retiring.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Brzon (Mark), Wichita, KS.; son, David Zugelder (Diana), Wichita, KS.; 7 grandchildren, Morgan and Monte Brzon, both of Wichita, KS.; Tara March (Ryan), Wichita, KS.; Zach Zugelder, Wichita, KS.; Nathan Tholstrup, Concordia, KS.; Emily Jones (Grant), Wichita, KS; Katie Flippo, Overland Park, KS; sister, Marilyn Reams, Dayton, OH.; sister-in-law, Myrna Zugelder, Buffalo, NY.; sister-in-law, Katherine Imhoff (Rodney), Concordia, KS.; brother-in-law, Fr. Larry Letourneau, Salina, KS.; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, parents, Howard and Bertha, 2 brothers, Jim and Bobby Zugelder.
A public visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.
A private family funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, with Pastor Jonathan Peppers officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the O’Connor Animal Shelter, Concordia, Kansas c/o Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
