Shirley Anne Train, 82, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on August 27, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Gene Train, and her son, Eric Train.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Lori and Michael Hill; her grandchildren, Jacquelyn Slay and her significant other Jared Tillet, Tacita Slay, Shaquille Slay and his wife Amber, and Marc Train; as well as four great-grandsons.
Shirley dedicated many years of her life to serving as the secretary at First Southern Baptist Church. She also found great joy in working with children through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and children’s choir.
A devoted mother and loving wife, Shirley had a generous and caring heart. She gave to others without a second thought and touched the lives of many through her kindness and service. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Saint John’s Missionary Baptist Church, 215 S. Chicago, Salina, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a savings account established at Central Kansas Education Credit Union for Shirley’s four great grandsons.
