Sally Ann Donatell, 84, of Salina, Kansas, passed away surrounded by her family, on July 23, 2026. She was born on June 21, 1942, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Warren and Eva (McDonald) Clark.
Sally graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1964. Throughout the years, she and her family made their home in Madison, Wisconsin; Wooster, Ohio; Yonkers and Scarsdale, New York; Rockford, Illinois; before eventually settling in Salina, Kansas.
Sally devoted much of her time to serving her community and supporting her children. She volunteered as a den mother, brownie leader, Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader, and CCC instructor. She especially enjoyed cheering from the bleachers as her children participated in their many sporting events.
As her children grew older, Sally pursued a career as a licensed social worker. She served as the Director of Social Services at Presbyterian Manor for 17 years, where she compassionately cared for countless individuals and families. Following her retirement, she found great joy in gardening and remained active in her community. She served on the Salina Public Library Board, the Bereavement Committee at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the ED Chapter of P.E.O., and faithfully attended her favorite Saturday morning coffee group.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas C. Donatell, and her son, Tim C. Donatell.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmen (Donald) Porterfield; her sons, Tom Donatell and Brian Donatell; and her eight cherished grandchildren, Megan, Madison, Camille, Ellie, Caroline, Colin, Lexie, and Wyatt.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N. 9th St., Salina, Kansas.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, 1920 E. Crawford St., Salina, Kansas.
A luncheon will be at The Sullivan, 227 N. Santa Fe Ave, Salina, Kansas.
Memorials can be made to Sacred Heart Cathedral in honor of Sally, in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St. Salina, Kansas.
