Richard “Rick” Anthony Hansmann, 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on April 20, 2025.
Born to Robert and Lois (Miller) Hansmann on January 13, 1947, in Moorhead, Minnesota, Rick dedicated his life to service, spending an incredible 47 years with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.
His commitment to his community and the people he served left a legacy of integrity and compassion.
In June 1991, Rick married the love of his life, Marlene. Together they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and family — the things that mattered most to him.
Rick was endlessly proud of his children and found immense joy in being a grandfather to 14 grandchildren. In recent years, he embraced his role as a great-grandfather to six, a title he wore with pride and tenderness.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Terri Hansmann, and stepson, Christopher Weiss.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene, daughter Tonya Voltolina, of Orlando, FL, son Tony Hansmann of Rogers, AR, stepdaughter, Erin McLean, of Virginia Beach, VA, sisters Marylin Furman, of Tucson, AZ, Nancy Arrowsmith of Mesa, AZ and Carol Garrett of Salina, KS. He leaves behind 14 grandchildren, and 6 great grandkids.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 118 N 9th St. Salina, KS.
Visitation will be held the evening before, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5-9pm, with rosary taking place at 7pm, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St. Salina, KS.
