Rachel Elizabeth (Messmer) Roberg

Rachel Elizabeth Roberg passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022. She was born in Kansas City, MO. to James and Joy (Harris) Messmer, Oct 1,1925. She met her husband, Russell Roberg, in Kansas City, MO. and was married July 22, 1950. She moved to Salina with her husband in 1963.

She is survived by her three daughters; Linda (Ron) Stephens, Navarre, FL, Dorothy Dickerman, Salina, KS, and Joan (Paul) Schultz, McPherson, KS; and two sons, Tod (Jeanette) Roberg, Salina, KS, and Jeff (Pepper) Roberg, Beloit, KS. She has sixteen grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild; two brothers, Ramen Messmer, Appleton City, MO, Frank (Billie) Messmer Raymore, MO; one sister, Shirley (Houston) Anderson, Peculiar, MO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Roberg, one daughter, Jane Halloway, her parents, brothers, Robert Messmer and David Messmer, one sister, Bertha Mae Loyd, and one grandson and one great great grandson.

She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina, KS. She worked in Kansas City for Central Products as a glass cutter for several years, starting at the age of 16. She worked for Bethany Home, Lindsborg, KS for four years. She was a homemaker the majority of her life. She taught Sunday School classes for seven years at Blue Ridge Trinity Lutheran Church in Raytown, MO, and she enjoyed collecting dolls for many years.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, June 30, 2022 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Salina, Ks. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022 in the Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Visitation will be held at the Ryan Mortuary on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 4 until 8 p.m. that evening.
