Paul Stephen Coleman

Paul Stephen Coleman, 62, Salina passed away Sunday, June 10, at the Bob Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita. He was born in McPherson, Ks. to Charles and Marjory (Bradshaw) Coleman who proceeded him in death.

Paul served in the U.S. Navy and studied studio art at Wichita State University. He was an artist and house painter. He owned Paul Paints in San Francisco, CA, St. Joseph, MO and Salina. While in Saint Joseph he volunteered his artistic skills co-producing art projects for children at Pied Piper Children’s Book Store and auction items for the Noyes Home for Children. Paul had a passion for the outdoors and fishing in the Stanislaus River in California with his best friend Al Weitner.

Paul is survived by his brothers, Tim Coleman (Connie) of Salina, Pat Coleman(Jennie) of Pratt, Phillip Coleman of Meriden, sisters, Kathy Morris (Mike) of Stafford, Charleen McKinney (Jack) of Springfield, MO, Colleen Garcia of St. Joseph, MO, Eileen Thomas of Dallas, Texas, Jeanne Ward (Randy) of Wichita, Julie Gil (Greg) of Salina, Veronica Haden (Dave) of Abilene, Rosie Lammoglia of St. Joseph, MO, Suzanne Piercy of Abilene and Poppy Gilbert of Salina, 93 nieces and nephews and his multitude of “family” and friends in California and Missouri. Paul was a skilled dog trainer and will be sorely missed by his constant and faithful companion, Biff.

A memorial mass celebrating Paul’s life will be held Saturday, June 16 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth A. Seton Catholic Church, Salina, followed by inurnment at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Father Keith Webber will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Noyes Home for Children, St. Joseph, MO in care of Ryan’s Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, Kansas 67401.
