Norman C. Cleveland

Norman C. Cleveland, age 92, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Cloud County Health Center, Concordia, Kansas. He was born on April 17, 1927 in Concordia, Kansas to Avery and Rilla (Morgan) Cleveland.
Norman graduated from Concordia High School in 1945. He married Lila (Pelland) Lambert on August 6, 1959 and Norman and Lila were partners on their farm in Cloud County for 55 years. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2014.

Norman was raised on the homestead in Nelson Township and with the exceptions of travel and hospital stays he lived every day of his life in the house in which he was raised. Because of the wonderful people of No Place Like Home Health he was able to live out his final years at his home. Norman’s passion in life was farming and he farmed in the Cloud County community his entire life. He was a devoted husband and father and dedicated to teaching his kids the values of hard work and farm family life.

Norman and Lila were avid square dancers and toured North America square dancing. He served on the school board of Hillcrest District 6 School and the Nelson Township Fire Board.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lila, parents, brothers Russell Dean and Marvin and an infant great grandson, Benjamin Cleveland.

He is survived by his 4 children, Don Lambert and partner Ray Hill, Kansas City, MO; Michael Cleveland and wife Cindy, Salina, KS; Diann Spencer and partner Tom Everitt, KC, MO; and Jerry Cleveland and partner Deb Baker, New Cambria, KS.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2020 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home Chapel with Austin Graham officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, rural Concordia, Kansas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2020 at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
