Norma Boswell

Norma Boswell, 95, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 9 a.m., Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 while in the company of family members, at Pleasant View Home, Inman, Kansas.

Norma was born in Stockton, Kansas on January 10, 1924, a daughter of Nellie G. (Bennett) and Norman R. Griebel.

Norma graduated from Stockton High School, Stockton, Kansas in 1942

She was a member of Wheatland Baptist Church

Through the years Norma worked for South Western Bell as a operator, Sears as a sales person and Swallow Aircraft as a parts fabricator working the nightshift, all in Wichita, Kansas. After she was married Norma did janitorial work for various offices around McPherson.

Norma enjoyed talking, cooking, reading, her relationship with the Lord and spending time with her family.

Norma G. Griebel was united in marriage to Granville Durward “Joe” Boswell on April 13, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Wichita. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, Norman, Donald and Richard. Joe died October 30, 1998..

She is survived by her children Norman Boswell, of Houston, Texas, Donald Boswell and his wife Nancy, of Kennard, Nebraska, Richard G. Boswell and his wife Brenda, of McPherson, Kansas; Shirley Hagner, of Parkland, South Dakota, David Boswell and his wife Mary Alice, of Miami, Oklahoma,; She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Granville D. “Joe” Boswell, a daughter, Betty Martinez; and a brother Robert Griebel; and a sister Marjorie Bartlet.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. at the Glidden-Ediger Chapel, McPherson, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 9:30 at the Wheatland Baptist Church, McPherson, Kansas with Pastor Terry Post officiating.

Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
