Nancy Sue Conde

Nancy Sue Conde, 69, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 while in the company of family members, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

Nancy was born in Great Bend, Kansas on August 22, 1950, a daughter of Bonnie Jean (Watt) and Leonard Herbert Friedly.

Nancy attended the Beaver School, Beaver, Kansas, Claflin grade school and graduated from Claflin High School, Claflin, Kansas in 1968.

Nancy Sue Friedly was united in marriage to Joe Conde on June 26, 1970 at the First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Hoisington. They moved to McPherson in 1976.. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, one daughter and two sons, Mary, Billy, and Chris.

She was a member of First Christian Church McPherson, Kansas and was raised in the First United Methodist Church in Claflin and Hoisington, Kansas and was a member of the Grace Bible Church of McPherson for a while.

Nancy was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. Through the years she worked as a baby sitter for many children for 17 years, worked at Jubilee Foods, Jantz Lumber, Truevalue, and Citizen State Bank, was a bus driver for M.C.D.S. for many years, and was currently dispatch for the McPherson Senior Center.

Nancy was a member of the Red Hats and Ya Ya’s. Nancy enjoyed making people laugh and smile, she loved her kids and grandkids, talking and making new friends, and she never met a stranger. She also enjoyed good music and a strong drink, painting, quilting, and loved collecting owls. Her family was most important to her and she loved getting them all together.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over 49 & 1/2 years, Joe Conde, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Mary Cathleen Brawner and husband John, of McPherson, Kansas, William “Billy” Leonard Conde, of Kansas City, Kansas and Christopher “Chris” Aaron Conde, of Lawrence, Kansas; her siblings, Craig Friedly and wife Julie, of Kinsley, Kansas, Roger Friedly and wife Joree, of Hoisington, Kansas, Douglas Friedly and wife Arlene, of Bonner Springs, Kansas, Mariann Shook and husband Gary Shook, of Hoisington, Kansas and Connie Lowe and husband Bob, of Hoisington, Kansas; her seven grandchildren, Conrad Neiman and wife Staci, Brooklinn Lehman and husband Jacob, Jenna Dooley and husband Alex, Taylor Brawner, and twins Joseph and Nickolas Brawner; her six great-grandchildren, Eleanor Neiman, Addeline Neiman, Kalie Dooley, Chase Dooley, Aryalynn Dooley, and Xaedon Badman; many nieces and nephews, other relatives, a host of friends and all her Ya Ya’s.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Leonard Friedly and a grandson, Brenton Brawner.

Friends are invited to call on Saturday January 4, 2020 from 9 until service time at First Christian Church, McPherson.

Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, McPherson, KS, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th, 2020 with Pastor Lynn Scott officiating.

Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, KS.
