Marybeth Mae “Betts” Anderson

Marybeth Mae “Betts” Anderson, 79, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away at 10:14 a.m., Saturday, June 9th, 2018 suddenly, at McPherson Hospital.

Marybeth was born in Newton, Kansas on May 2, 1939, a daughter of Edith M. (Stucky) and Marvin B. Kaufman.

Marybeth attended King City Country School and graduated from McPherson High School, McPherson, Kansas in 1957.

She was a member of Countryside Covenant Church McPherson, Kansas.

Marybeth was a homemaker and she took great pride in providing for her family in this manner. She was a farmer’s wife for 26 years, worked in the tag department at the Courthouse, worked at the A.S.C.S. office as a field agent, and worked along with her husband in their real estate business Action Realty as owner operator, realtor.

Marybeth was a member of the McPherson Real Estate Association. She truly enjoyed cooking, going to Branson, loved spending time with her family and loved getting hugs from them all.

Marybeth Mae Kaufman was united in marriage to Dale R. Anderson on June 3, 1959 at McPherson Mennonite Church, McPherson, Kansas. The young couple established their first home together in Norfolk, Virginia while Dale was serving in the U.S. Navy and when he was discharged they returned to McPherson.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of over fifty-nine years Dale Anderson, of McPherson, Kansas; her children, Ronald Anderson and wife Darla, of McPherson, Kansas, Pamela Nelson and husband Arvard, of McPherson, Kansas, and Michael Anderson and wife Vicki, of Elyria, Kansas; her brothers, Pete Kaufman and wife Anna, of Elyria, Kansas and Daniel Kaufman and wife Gayla, of Wichita, Kansas; her 8 grandchildren, Caleb Anderson and wife Jessica, Heather Platt and husband Kyle, James Mickley and wife Emily, Matthew Nelson and wife Sarah, Timothy Nelson and wife Jamie, Bri Leighty and husband Michael, Brekken Anderson, and Bret Anderson; her 4 great-grandchildren, Nola, Clover, Orin, and Jessie; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Marybeth was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Edith Kaufman; her sister, Marvelyn Gray, and her brother, George Kaufman.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson, Kansas.

The funeral service will be held at Countryside Covenant Church, McPherson, Kansas, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14th, 2018 with Reverend Jon Black officiating.

Burial will be at the McPherson Cemetery McPherson, KS.
