Mary Jayne (Kondzela) Jester

It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of Mary Jester, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Mary Jayne Jester, 65, of Salina, Kansas passed away peacefully on February 17th in her home.

Mary was born to William and Ann Kondzela in Milwaukee, WI on March 12, 1956.

Mary is survived by her children, Michael, Matthew, and Katherine. Her sisters, Paulette and Patricia and brother William. As well as her six beautiful grandchildren of which she adored immensely.

When Mary decided to relocate to Salina, Kansas, she worked nearly 40 years with Phillips Lighting, retiring last spring. Her achievements and hard work did not stop there. She committed her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother and “Amma” as her grandchildren named her.

Mary’s selfless love excelled at propping up her family and friends. She had a contagious laugh and a big smile that she was willing to share with so many. Mary was always eager to help others and had a special passion for the outdoors. She was a magical gardener; she could grow anything! When she wasn’t taking time to help others or spreading her laughter, she would share her huge heart with all animals especially her 4-legged babies. She would fulfill her days with her family, pets and gardening.

We will hold the most amazing memories of our mother and we will miss her greatly.

The family requests that any memorial donations, gifts, or stories of how she touched the lives of others be sent to Ryan Mortuary 137 N 8thSt. Salina, KS 67401 or www.ryanmortary.com

The family will hold a celebration of life in honor of Mary at Indian Rock Lodge Park in Salina, Kansas on April 23rd, 2022, at 1pm.
