Mary Ann Martin

Mary Ann Martin, 91,of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 29,2026, surrounded by family.

She was born on February 16,1934, to the late Orval Milton and Mary Ellen (Smith) Harding in Isabel, Kansas. Mary Ann married Jack Martin on December 31, 1956. Together they owned and operated Jack’s IGA in Salina, KS, and Jack and Jill Grocery in Haysville, KS.

After returning to Salina, she worked as salad bar manager at Dillons where she was employed until her retirement.

After retiring from Dillons, Mary Ann and Jack built their dream home in the mountains near South Fork, Colorado, where they lived for almost 20 years.

Mary Ann was always very active in her church and community, helping organize and serve at the annual community Thanksgiving meal, singing in church choir, managing the church library, attending line dance classes at the Community Center, and birdwatching from the porch of their cabin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, four sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her children Jackie(Larry) Stanton, Wichita, KS, Tammy (JJ) O’Connor, Smolan, KS, Randy (Jennifer) Martin, Tallahassee, FL, and Annette (Tim) Ochs, Salina, KS, her, brother Bob (Lyn) Harding, Dayton, OR, sister Donna Gager, Plainville, KS, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

We are eternally grateful for the love and tender care she received from the staff and residents at Reflections Retirement Resort and the Interim Hospice Team. The joy and laughter they all shared will forever warm our hearts.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 2,2026, 11:00 am at Ryan Mortuary, and live-streamed at https://youtube.com/live/PxTujspyGmg, with a luncheon immediately following. Services will conclude with burial at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, KS.
