Marilyn Dee (McCausland) Schleiger, 88, formerly of Salina, died Thursday, January 25th in Schertz, TX where she has resided since 2016.
Marilyn was born August 8, 1935 in Beloit, KS to Harry Clifton and Anna Edith (Humes) McCausland. She graduated from Salina High School in 1953 and married Ralph Schleiger that same year.
Marilyn worked for Southwestern Bell for over 25 years. After retirement, she worked briefly for the Salina School Board. Marilyn was a cancer survivor who always enjoyed life. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph, an infant son David, her sisters Maxine Johnson, Lucille McCausland, Virginia Rees, Vivian Zajac and brothers Bob and Bill McCausland. Survivors include her children Bob (Susan) Schleiger of Derby, KS, David (Yvette) Schleiger of Schertz, TX and Connie Ausland of Bartlesville, OK; a brother, Gary (Judy) McCausland of Overland Park, KS; seven grandchildren, Victoria, Emma, Thomas, Lauren, Michael, Eric and Kristy; and eight great grandchildren, Amelia, Alyssa, Alex, Ruby, Myla, Sutton, Remi and Lincoln.
Visitation will be Sunday Feb. 4 from 1-5pm at Ryan Mortuary, Salina with family receiving friends from 3-5pm. Funeral services will be at 10:30am Monday, Feb. 5 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 845 S. Ohio, Salina.
A visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30-10:15am at the church. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park following the funeral. Memorials to Donor’s Choice.
