Luise Brown

Luise Brown, age 90 years young, passed away at her home in Concordia, Kansas on Friday, January 12, 2024. She was born on July 18, 1933, in Walldorf Germany to August and Margarethe (Nitsch) Tron. Luise graduated from high school in Walldorf Germany. She later met the love of her life, Gerald James Brown while he was stationed in Germany. They married on April 6, 1957. To their union they were blessed with four children, Gerald “Jerry”, Diana, Shirley and William “Bill”.

Luise spent most of her time as a homemaker while her husband was stationed in Germany, Guam, Korea, Philippines, Greenland, and other Air Force bases in the United States.  In 1974, after 20 years in the Air Force, they made Concordia their home.

Luise was an avid Bingo player, card player, and never turned down a trip to the Casino. Her biggest joy was watching her “grandbabies” in their sports and activities. She was known to be one of the loudest and proudest cheerleaders with that German accent. She knew no stranger and was known as Grandma Brown to all.

Left to mourn her loss is daughter Shirley LeDuc and husband Troy, son William “Bill” Brown wife Charity, son-in-law Brad Snyder and daughter-in-law Dee Brown all of Concordia. Grandchildren: Kevin Brown (Holly), Jacob Strait (Ryan), Josh Brown (Katy), Jordan Brown (Kayla), Jarin Brown, Aliss Lagasse (Dennis), Genae Lagasse, Jared LeDuc (Maria), Shawna Klima (JD), Melissa Kindel (Allen), Emily Erkenbrack (Drew), Cassidy Brown (Matthew), Nathan Brown. Great Grandchildren, Drew, Jaci, Marley Brown, Kyree, Sabin, Banon Strait, Jodee Brown, Rush, Taygnn LeDuc, Drake, Bridgett Blochlinger, Hunter, Alli, Broc Klima, Rustyn, Kyler, Sean, LeLe Kindel, Kenneth Erkenbrack and two more on the way.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary, son Jerry Brown and daughter Diana Snyder, along with a brother Hans Tron and sister-in-law Helga Tron of Walldorf, Germany.

A Mass Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 18, 2024 at our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Concordia, Kansas with Fr. Joseph Kieffer officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17, 2024 from 1-8 pm with a wake service at 6 pm and the family greeting friends until 8 pm after the wake service all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas. Burial will follow in the St. Concordia Catholic Church where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
