Linda M. Duffy, 80, of Salina, KS left her journey on earth to join her friends and relatives in Heaven on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Salina, KS on November 19, 1944, to Raymond A. and Vera M. Halstead (later Driscoll).
Linda held various positions with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) beginning in 1981 and she retired as an Accountant for KDOT in 2009. During her KDOT career Linda acquired her Certified Public Manager certification. Linda was a 1962 graduate of Salina High School (Salina Central).
Linda was Treasurer for the local Christian Women’s Connection in Salina. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose for many years and held the position of Senior Regent in 1990 and 1991. Linda is a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salina, KS. Growing up on a small farm west of Salina on Halstead Road (Linda’s maiden name), she participated in 4H.
Linda loved and was very loved by her friends and family. She enjoyed hosting holiday dinners for her family through the years. She enjoyed her kitty cats through the years as well (Issy May, Because, Callie Sue, and Missy). Linda enjoyed travelling and was an adventurous soul. She was able to complete a bucket list item with a cruise to Alaska shortly before passing. It was a truly beautiful experience for her.
She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond A. Halstead; mother, Vera M. Driscoll (Hartley, Halstead); brother, Stephen R. Halstead; spouses Frank B. Duffy and Arthur L. Fisher; and granddaughter, Stacy R. Bertolozzi (Stevenson).
Linda is survived by her daughters: Shelly Flores (Salina, KS), Leslie Stevenson (Purcell, OK), and Cecelia Turner (Tescott, KS); grandchildren: Levi Turner, Cody Turner, and Jonathan Flores; seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., during which the family will receive guests. A memorial service will take place on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park. Both visitation and the memorial service will be held at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N 8th St., Salina, KS. A luncheon, hosted by the ladies of Immanuel Lutheran Church, will immediately follow the graveside service at Ryan Mortuary.
Memorials in Linda’s honor may be made to Tammy Walker Cancer Center, Immanuel Lutheran Church, or Gentiva Hospice.
