Kenneth Lee Rush went to be with his Heavenly Father on May 1, 2026. He was born October 26, 1936 in Marquette, Kansas to his parents Nelson (Bill) and Ruth Rush.
Не grew up in farm life. Ken joined the Navy in 1956 and served on the USS Yorktown and later on the USS Hancock. After serving in the navy, in 1960 he moved to Salina, Kansas to work for Salina Supply Company. He then went to work for Tony’s Pizza for twenty-three years in the maintenance department, where he learned to become a fabricator. This is where he met Nancy Beemer and they were married in November, 1974 for 51 ½ years. Later, he was employed by Southeast of Saline school as a custodian. With his welding and wood working knowledge, he constructed several items for the school which proved to simplify the workload of his co-workers. During his retirement years he worked as a seasonal employee for the City of Salina in the parks department.
He had four sons from a previous marriage: David Rush (Gema), Duane Rush (Nicole), Dwight Rush, and Mark Rush (Debbie). Ken also had four step-children: JoAnn Cisneros (Martin), Edwin Beemer, Richard Beemer (Janet), and Scott Beemer (Bernie). Ken had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ken’s parents, his sister, Wanda, and his 5 year old grandson Jeremy preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at the Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina, Kansas with the Navy Honor Guard on June 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m.
