Julia “Julie” Rae Ottley

Julia “Julie” Rae Ottley, 81, Salina, died Saturday, July 13, 2019. Julie was born Jan. 7, 1938 in Salina to Julia (Swanson) and J. Raymond Snead and remained a lifelong Salina resident. Julie loved her family and especially family gatherings. She was a devoted member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and was a regular volunteer at many charities in the area. She enjoyed volunteering at Presbyterian Manor, Catholic Charities, TACOL Thrift store and the Food Bank.

On May 29, 1956, Julie married Kenneth Dale Ottley at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth (Ken), and daughter, Susan Lynn Ottley. She is survived by two sons; Daniel Joseph (Cheri), Grainfield, and David Michael (Andrea), Victoria; four daughters, Sharon Kay Burnett (Dave), Salina, Nancy Anne Ottley, Moundridge, Julie Marie Kocour (Michael), Atchison, and Barbara Joyce Hughes (Jason), Topeka; her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly, Christopher Michael Ottley, Jessie Jolynn Hatch (Jeremey), Chad William Colgin (Stephanie) Kenneth Michael Colgin (Jamie), Tyler Allan Burnett (Kristyn), Cody Michael Burnett (Morgan), Jordan Michael Ottley (Jordan), Brett Dale Ottley (Taylor), Samuel Lincoln Ottley (fiancé, Karly Cavanaugh), Trevor Joseph Kocour (fiancé, Kimmie Clark), Tobin Michael Kocour, Colten Ray Kocour, Bethany Michelle Hughes, Jackson Ray Hughes (fiancé, Kristen Craig), Tristan Thomas Hughes (Alyssa); great grandchildren, Gage, Callen, and Liam Hatch, Easton and Camden Burnett, Jase Burnett, Deacon Colgin, Josephine and Lucille Ottley, and Emma Philo.

Visitation will be Monday from noon until 8:00 pm at the Ryan Mortuary, Salina where the family will have vigil services at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Ln, Salina. Burial will be in All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
