John Henry Hunt, passed away the morning of November 25, 2023 at the age of 94 years, in Salina, Kansas. He was born December 9, 1928 to parents Ruth (Littleton) and Charles Hunt in Hoyt, Kansas.

John was preceded in death by his beloved and wife, Barbara Ann Ekren Hunt of Moorhead, Minnesota and Riley, Kansas; and a brother, Maurice Hunt of Platte City, Kansas.

John is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn O’Connor Hunt of Salina, Kansas; two sisters, Anna Marie Chalmers, Texas and Letha Haslett, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Ronald Ekren, Breckenridge, Minnesota.

He is also survived by: His children: Tom and Michele Schnurr, Colorado; Jonathan and Jill Hunt, Oklahoma, and Christopher and Connie Hunt, Colorado.  Stepchildren: Pat and Mary Pat Petrie, Kansas; Jim O’Connor, Kansas; Theresa O’Connor, Idaho; Steve Altman and Catherine O’Connor, California; Tom and Ann Myers, Colorado. Grandchildren: Andrew John, Emily, Quincy, Brandon, Erick, Evan, Garrett and Thatcher. Great Grandchildren: Charlie, Henry and George.  Step-Grandchildren: Matthew, Cara, Chris, Mark, Michael, Maggie, and a step-Great Grandchild, Bridget.

John Hunt was proud to serve in and retired from United States Navy. An honorable military burial will be held in the spring in Denison, Kansas. A private, family memorial service will be held December 23, in Salina, Kansas.
