John B. Luecke

John B. Luecke, age 69, of Concordia, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia. He was born on March 19, 1949 in Concordia, KS to Edwin J. & Aline (Lewis) Luecke.
John graduated from Concordia High School in 1967, then attended Cloud County Community College and graduated from Beloit Vo-Tech. John was married to Dina Kenyon and they raised their family near Aurora, KS. He served in the US Navy from 1968-1972. During that time, he served on the maiden voyage of the USS Kennedy. John had an insatiable curiosity; reading and exploring on many topics. He enjoyed developing theories on how the world works. He was a machinist and welder for ABB and later Henry Enterprises. John loved working with his hands and not only built the addition to the family home but also designed and built the stained glass panel gate at The Brown Grand Theater.

He is survived by his mother, Aline, Concordia; sons, Aaron Luecke (Jamie Kegle), Concordia & Alex Luecke (Billie), Aurora; daughters, Stephanie Armstrong (Vince), Concordia & Christina Wark (Jim), Goddard; sisters, Barbara Luecke (Mark Bullis), Seattle, WA & Karen Luecke (Amy Hope), Taos, NM; brother, Alan Luecke (Cheryl), KC, MO; 10 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Edwin in 2002 and his wife Dina in 2005.

It was John’s wishes to be cremated and the family will hold a Celebration of life at 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 128 E. 8th St., Concordia, KS. Following the services there will be a gathering of family and friends at 5:00 pm at 1480 N. 230th Rd., Concordia, KS.
