Janet I. McKain, 80, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019. She was born Jan. 23, 1939 to Clarence C and Dora E (Herrington) Schur.

She graduated from Minneapolis High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to James (Jim) McKain of Tescott on Feb. 1, 1957. They moved to Salina in 1960.

Janet worked for Sears in Salina for 33 years, Bennington State Bank in Salina for 5 years and Callabresi Heating and Cooling, Inc. in Salina for 18 years, retiring in Sept. 2011.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; sisters Claretta Bussart, Loretta Kibler, Bess Parks; brother William Schur.

She is survived by her husband Jim of 62 years, daughters Valorie McKain and Max Pfrang of Manhattan, Victoria McKain and John Schafer of Roselia; sister Grace Lawrence of Bennington; brother Tim Schur (Diane) of Minneapolis and a special family Bruce and Katie Fast of Salina and their children Luke, Sarah, and Paul.

Cremation has been chosen. There will be no visitation. Services will be at March 29, 2019 at 10:30am at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina.
